The upcoming economic crisis could crash all the local and freelance businesses
Over the past few weeks, the news has been declaring that not only are we in a global pandemic but also, we will have to experience the worst economic crisis that has ever happened.
Small business and freelancers are struggling the most with having to pay taxes even not making incomes due to the shutdowns. It is in our hands supporting small commerce’s to make our economy avoid a permanent recession.
In the meantime, businesses are working on reinventing their services, marketing strategies and future plans from an unthinkable uncertainty. All sorts of online alternatives are insufficient to keep the business going. Moreover, the fact that we are living in a technological revolution does not benefit all the markets; the dropped of international tourism in Spain this summer is responsible for a loss of 100.000 million of euros and thousands of unemployment. Clearly, the crisis that awaits us is inevitable.
The coronavirus is completely transforming the global economy, but still, as customers, we can tip the balance in the small business. Investing in national businesses is crucial for avoiding them from going bankrupt.
Multinationals are the ones that are going to have access to credits, and still we are helping them to have a smoother recovery. Sounds unbelievable that businesses such as Amazon, that avoid millions in taxes in our country, still reach maximums in the Stock Exchange. Our consumption habits are focused on buying products from Amazon when we should be investing in our country’s small businesses for the best of the economy since the market is still in turmoil.
During this pandemic crisis, we are showing exceptional solidarity among all more than ever; we go out to our balconies and applaud to thank all the medical assistance, we dance with our neighbors to enliven the situation… But still, we have to support our local commerce’s if we actually want to come back to normal after this quarantine.
